To add a new product to Smart, follow the steps below:
Open the product editor
- To start creating a new product, click on the Edit icon on the top left and then the + icon on the right.
Fill in product information
Product image
Click on the camera and select if you want:
- Take a new picture
- Selecting an existing image from your device.
- Choose a color that represents the product.
Name
Enter a product name to be displayed in the POS system and on the receipt.
Price
Fill in the selling price, including VAT.
Price unit
The default is “st” (piece), but you can click on the unit to change to other options, such as kg, m, or h.
Purchase price
Enter the purchase price of the product to get a better idea of the margin.
Moms
Select the VAT rate for the product.
Barcode
Enter the product’s barcode manually or click on the barcode symbol to scan the code with your phone’s camera. The barcode can be used to quickly search for the product.
Category
Select a category for the product to facilitate searching and sorting in the checkout system if you have many products.
Warehouse management
Activate stock management if you want to keep track of the stock balance and item number of the product.
Number in stock
Enter the current stock balance. The system automatically counts down the stock when the product is sold.
Article number (SKU)
Enter the product’s article number (SKU) to make it easier to search for the product in the system.
Exit
- Click on Add product to save the new product in the system.
With these steps, the product is now available for sale in Fortus Smart.
