Settings in Fortus POS

To adjust the settings in Fortus POS, use the gear icon in the upper right corner. Here you can make important configurations for printers, payment terminals, receipt formats and other cashier functions.

Type of printer

Set the right printer type depending on your equipment:

  • HTML – Used for A4 printers with receipt format.
  • PointAirPay – For receipts printed via Point/Verifone terminal.
  • StarWebPRNT – If Star receipt printer is used.
  • A4 – Adapts receipt and invoice to A4 format.
  • 80 mm printer – For 80 mm receipt printers without Star configuration.
  • 80 mm printer local PC – Used when the printer is connected via PC.

Scanner and IP configurations

  • Scanner connected to printer – Activate if EAN scanner is connected via receipt printer.
  • IP Printer – Enter the IP number of the printer.
  • IP Payment Terminal – Enter the IP of the Wi-Fi connected payment terminal.

Terminal type

Select the type of card terminal you use:

Customized Payment Methods

  • Custom Payment Method – Add a customer-defined payment method (e.g. Swish or Custom Invoice).
  • Naming – Name the payment method for easy identification at checkout.

Additional Settings

  • Virtual Keyboard – For a tablet, you can activate a virtual keyboard if you have a scanner connected.
  • Show Prices incl. VAT – Indicate whether prices should be displayed with VAT, especially for B2B trade.
  • Practice mode – Activates test mode where purchases are marked as practice and are not valid. It is important not to make card or invoice payments in practice mode as these can be registered as real.

Tools and Maintenance

  • Print test – Print the test receipt on the selected printer.
  • Clear Cache – If settings are not displayed correctly, clear the browser cache to refresh.
  • Deposit/Withdrawal – Manage cash balance with deposit or withdrawal.
  • New Item – Create a new item directly in the checkout (recommended to be managed in Fortus Administration).
  • Create End of Day – Create an end of day to record the cash balance. Empty the change box if money is not left behind.
  • Reports – View Z and X reports from closings and day closings.

  • Manual – Download the checkout manual as PDF (will be replaced by digital instructions).
  • About the POS – View details of printers and payment terminals (IP number and other configuration).
  • Log out – Use the arrow icon to log out of the checkout.

These settings are usually done at the beginning but may need to be adjusted if the hardware changes.
