Purpose: This guide will help you quickly get started with Fortus POS and use its basic features. We will go through the following steps:
- Log in to Fortus POS Admin
- Create a shop and checkout
- Add products to the range
- Create and modify treasurer permissions
- Log in at checkout
Log in to Fortus POS Admin
The first step is to log in to the system to start working with Fortus POS.
Step-by-step:
- Access the Fortus POS admin portal by logging in with your user details at https://admin.fortusfinance.com.
- Enter your user details (username and password) in the login fields.
- Click on Log in.
Tip: If you have forgotten your password, click on “Forgot password?” to receive a reset link by email.
Create a shop and checkout
Before you can add products and start selling, you need to create a shop and a checkout in the system.
Create a shop
- Go to Stores in the menu and select Manage Stores.
- Click on Add store.
- Fill in the necessary details:
- Store name
- Street address, house number and town
- Organization number
- Contact number and email
- Click on Save to create the store.
Create a checkout
- Once the store is created, select your store under Stores > Manage stores.
- At the bottom you will see a list of existing checkouts in the store. Go to the New Checkout tab.
- Click on Add to create a new fund.
- Enter an Alias to easily identify the till, for example “Till 1”.
- Click on Activate controller to activate the connection to the control box.
- Save the changes.
Add products to the range
Now you are ready to add products to the range.
Step-by-step:
- Go to Products in the menu.
- Click on Add.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Name: The name of the product as displayed at checkout.
- Price: Price of the product.
- Article number: Unique article number for the product.
- Stock profiles: Choose whether the product should be visible at checkout.
- VAT: Enter the VAT rate in percent.
- Stock item & stock balance: Select if it is a stock item and enter the stock balance.
- Category: Choose how and where to display the product at checkout.
- Click on Save to add the product to the range.
Tip: Use product categories to easily organize your assortment if you have many products.
Create and modify treasurer permissions
Ensure that the right staff has the right authorization to manage the POS system.
Step-by-step:
- Go to Settings and select Cashiers.
- Click on Add new cashier or select an existing user to edit.
- Please indicate the following:
- Name and username of the treasurer.
- Authorization level: Choose the right level depending on what the user should have access to.
- Click on Save user.
Tip: Create authorization groups if you have different roles, for example cashiers and store managers.
Log in at checkout
Now you are ready to start selling products and processing payments.
Step-by-step:
- Start the program Fortus POS: Open the program by clicking on the Fortus POS icon in your POS hardware, such as Fortus PayTab PT10 or Sunmi D3 Pro.
- Log in: Enter your username and password and click on Log in.
- Select checkout: If you have multiple checkouts, select the one you want to use for today’s sale.
- Add products: Scan barcodes or manually select products to add them to the shopping cart.
- Finalize the payment: Once all products are registered, select the payment method and complete the transaction.
